The Dangerous Summer 2k18 Headliner
I’ve been listening to The Dangerous Summer since about 2009. “Reach for the sun” was more than likely my favorite album that year so you can imaging that I was pretty pumped to photography the show a long side their master video/photo man Chris Simms (INSTAGRAM / VIMEO) . Naturally, I was there to shoot my boys in Microwave. Due to some unfortunate work conflicts I wasn’t able to do the whole tour with them but anytime these guys are playing a hometown gig- I’m there. If you haven’t seen them in their element, be sure to catch them in Atlanta. It’s bonkers. The whole show was filled with Atlanta friends that are as close as family. So many old friends and met so many new faces. Atlanta has an odd scene but damn is it loyal. I’ve been touring for nearly 9 years at this point and it still blows my mind how close together music can bring people from all across the world. I see friends that live hundreds/ thousands of miles away more than I see people in my own town. Not complaining at all. It’s rad.
The line up was incredible with “The band CAMINO” opening, followed by “Microwave” and “The Dangerous Summer” closing it out. All in all it was a fantastic night with one of the best crowds I’ve seen in a while. With it being as packed as it was it felt like shooting an off the wall Atlanta DIY house show but with the great sound and hospitality of The Masquerade. Anyway, here are the photos.
